Over the years, many things have changed. And the window industry is no different. The same old double-pane windows that used to be eligible for ENERGY STAR® certification no longer will. Companies are scrambling to figure out triple-pane options for their windows, in order to meet the latest standards from ENERGY STAR, including their “Most Efficient” certification.

Windows Plus has been offering a free triple-pane upgrade on our award-winning Elements® vinyl window line for over 15 years. Our standard triple-pane Elements® vinyl window has an average U-Factor of 0.19, so it meets and exceeds the new ENERGY STAR “Most Efficient” certification (required U-Factor ≤0.20 for ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certification in the Cincinnati region).
The industry is changing. Window companies are now experimenting with using unproven triple-pane glass in windows that were designed only for double-pane. But to support triple-pane glass, you need a stronger window that was designed for triple-pane. Foam-Insulated Frames
Comfort-Foam® R5 insulation is an environmentally friendly foam fill in both the frames and sashes of the Elements® window. This foam insulation offers a dramatic increase in thermal efficiency compared to typical R1 hollow frames.
Ultra S Triple-Pane Glass
Our Elements® vinyl window now comes standard with our free triple-pane upgrade to our Ultra S glass. This triple-pane glass package gives optimal solar heat & UV protection for hot summer months, but also helps insulate better than any double-pane window in the cold of winter.
K-Beam™ Reinforcement
The Kevlar® K-Beam™ is the strongest window reinforcement available, and comes standard in the Elements® window line. Most quality vinyl windows include some type of reinforcement to give the window added strength, but the Kevlar® K-Beam™ is stronger than steel, lighter than steal, but conducts heat like a composite reinforcement.
Dual-Action Sash Locks
The Elements® window uses a dual-action invisible tilt hardware system (ILTIS®), eliminating the need for plastic tilt latches in the middle of the window. These low-profile, metal dual-action locks utilize an integrated tilt mechanism, and bolt directly through the vinyl into the Kelvar® K-Beam™ reinforcement. ,
